It is obvious that there is a grounding problem. Please tell your guitar technician to check the grounding wires if it is soldered properly. Sorry for the very late reply.

(I can’t solder) The system mostly works but, when the sustainer is switched on, the volume pot is horribly noisy and is only 100% or 0%

It’s a long shot but can you think of what maybe incorrectly setup with this?
