Hi Luthor,

Once you use stainless frets on your guitar, you will never go back to nickel silver frets. The saying " it is like you are playing on ice" is true. Stainless steel frets is so slick it is easier to bend notes. I have four personal guitars, two Fender Stratocasters and two Ibanez Jems and I change it all to stainless frets. Medium Jumbo for Strats and Super Jumbo for Jems.

Regarding your Archtop problem, I would suggest that before you change pickups, as it will not solve the problem, adjust the pickup height. There is an adjustment screw on the side of the pickup that will make it closer or farther from the strings. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the comments,

Den

Hey Den,

What a great site for guitar players. I have never used a guitar with stainless steel frets and your post just pointed to me the amazing benefits it offers. I been playing guitar for a long time, but never worked that much on my gear.

After checking out your site I've got some ideas. I just got an Archtop guitar a couple of weeks ago and I wish it had stainless frets. By the way, I was thinking of replacing the pickup on it. It has only a neck pickup but it is far away from the strings. What would you suggest?

Luthor
