What is Reverb.com?
If you are a musician, I am quite sure you have heard of Reverb before. Well, for those who do not know it yet, it is a website where you can buy and sell your gear. The site is also offering an affiliate program so you can make money through commissions as an affiliate.
You can purchase brand new items as well as used ones. It is similar to eBay, but Reverb is all about musician’s gear plus some more.
Reverb.com Reviews
Summary
Name: Reverb
Business: A Website for Buying and Selling Music Gear
Affiliate Program: Good
Pros:
- Primarily focused on music gear
- More music items than eBay and Amazon
- Easy to get approved and good referral commissions
Cons:
- Nothing to write about
Star Rating: 4.5
What is the Website Reverb.com for?
The website is perfect for buying used and new music gear. This site is the best to buy your gear if you compare it to Amazon or eBay.
It is because the site is solely for music gear. The only thing I miss is the bidding on eBay. This feature is not available on Reverb.
They have quite a collection of guitars, guitar amps, guitar effects, guitar parts, basses, drums, and keyboards, and synthesizers.
They also have home audio equipment, and DJ and lighting equipment. On top of that, they also have pro audio equipment as well as software for your Digital Audio Workstation.
This site is also a store for used instruments. To sum it up, if it is for music, they have it.
Selling your Gear on Reverb
You have to pay a 3.5% selling fee if you list your item on Reverb. Then you also have to pay PayPal charges, which will vary according to your location.
Listing is free, which is good, and it can be set up in minutes.

Well, not many people know that you can make money from Reverb without selling anything by being a Reverb Affiliate.
They have an affiliate program run by growsumo. What I like about their affiliate program is it is very straight forward.
You register, get your link, and you are ready to be an affiliate. It is effortless to get approved, unlike Amazon, where approval is very hard.
They are not strict about how you advertise your links. Be it on Tweeter, Linkedin, or email. Amazon will penalize or ban you for that.
The only thing missing is the way you can make links from Amazon, where you can have pictures and your links in two quick steps. You do not have it on Reverb.
Commission Rate
- 3% for every Reverb LP sale
- 10% for every digital product sale
- 1% for every sale
On top of commissions, you will also earn for referrals
- $5 for every new seller
- $5 for every new buyer
- $1 for every signup.
Reverb will pay you through PayPal (which I preferred) and direct bank deposit.
Affiliate Program Pros
- Easy to get approved
- They pay referral fees
- High commissions on digital products
Cons
- Nothing to write.
Conclusion
This site is perfect for musicians for buying new or used gear, for selling brand new or used gear and a good source of income as an affiliate.
The approval is straight forward, and you can start promoting their products in just a very short time.

I am happy to know about Reverb, as I’m a musician. I do have a couple of extra instruments I would like to sell, so perhaps I should look into Reverb a bit more.
Also, I’m in the market for a fretless electric bass. Do you happen to know if Reverb offers such an instrument? My present bass is fretted, but I’ve tried a fretless one, and really liked it.
It’s especially nice that Reverb is an affiliate site. I had no idea.
Do you consider their prices to be in line with the current market? How do they stack up with other companies?
Thanks for this info — I will look into it more.

Hi Fran,
Reverb has a lot of instruments on their list. You just have to join and search what you need, either new or used.
They have a good affiliate program as well and very much easy to get approved and they pay by PayPal which is a good thing. Their affiliate commissions is good and it is worth joining.

I have always wanted to play a musical instrument, and I was hoping to do so before the year ends. Glad to know that I can get quality used gear for a start. I know I am not the only one looking for a gear and I am glad that Reverb offers an affiliate program. This is something I will get into immediately as I see I do not have to get approval to get in. I feel like this site will serve my needs. Thank you for this review. Great suggestion!

Hi Carol,
Reverb has a lot of used gear listed and it is one of the best sites to buy gear. Their affiliate program is way easier to get approved than other big companies. You just have to join and get approved right away.

Nice review about Reverb. I have been wondering if Reverb is a good place to buy guitars. You see I lost my guitar and have been looking for a new one. So thank you for your post I will check them out and hopefully find one that I like for a reasonable price.
