The FRX Tremolo System will replace the Tune-O-Matic and stop bar type bridge system without re-drilling and routing.
The locking nut will be mounted behind the guitar’s existing nut, in place of the truss rod cover.
Over the years, Floyd Rose has worked with guitar manufacturers to provide the best tremolo to improve the sonic qualities of the instrument and the overall playing experience.

Rating Stars: 5/5
Pros: Will Preserve the original configuration of Gibson guitars
Cons: Nothing to mention.
Bottom Line: This is a very nice option to have a Floyd Rose Tremolo on your Gibson. The FRX is available for you to have a Gibson guitar with a tremolo without routing the guitar.
Easy Installation
The Floyd Rose FRX Tremolo System was developed as a direct replacement for the Tune-O-Matic and stop bar bridge systems.
Due to a high demand from guitarists who own Gibsons, Floyd Rose finally manufactured this tremolo for guitars without a tremolo.
There is also no routing required, and the tremolo will use the existing bridge mounting holes. It is surface mounting, and the only minor modification is the two wood screw holes to secure the locking nut.
The design significantly reduces the need for significant modification to the guitar.
This tremolo finally solves the problem of Gibson owners who want a tremolo on their guitars without routing thereby preserving its original looks.
Not only that, but it keeps the tuning of the guitar stable despite the various changes done to the instrument’s sound when it is being played, such as when pulling the tremolo bar up or down to the extreme capacities.
These advantages are brought about by the distinct “double-locking” design offered by the Floyd Rose FRX systems which are not previously available on the stock Gibsons.

Multiple Settings Available
Once installed, the Floyd Rose TRX Tremolo System has locked, assisted floating, and full floating options, which could be selected through a stop screw.
Fine-tuning and intonation can be adjusted on the top of the bridge, while adjustments to spring tension can be done at the back of the tremolo.
The Floyd Rose TRX Tremolo System could also be installed in a number of different ways. For example, it is possible to have it “float.” With a floating bridge, the pitch can easily be adjusted to above or below zero position.
It could also be set to a hybrid configuration, which closely resembles the floating one, but uses the screw to anchor it to the starting position.
Lastly, it can be in a fixed configuration, wherein it can not be pushed down and pulled up.
These tremolo systems are perfect for playing different genres of music, especially classic and modern rock and roll. The Floyd Rose FRX will allow a Gibson guitar to be played like a guitar with a regular Floyd Rose Tremolo.
This tremolo system by Floyd Rose has been released to rave reviews. Because of its effectiveness as well as its ease of use and installation, it is definitely a worthy addition to the Floyd Rose line.

Alazarin Mobius says
Floyd Rose FRX: 0 out of 5 stars. An absolutely useless piece of junk. The worst tremolo unit I’ve ever bought. Not even worth it’s weight in scrap metal.
