What is a Rockinger Black Box Tremolo Stabilizer?
The Rockinger Tremolo Stabilizer is a device used to stabilize your guitar tremolo. It will place the tremolo back to the same spot after a dive bomb or a pull-up, thereby keeping it in tune.
The Rockinger Black Box Tremolo Stabilizer will put the tremolo back to its zero position even after the extreme use of the guitar tremolo.
Many guitarists like to use a tremolo system to be able to do some tremolo tricks. They cannot do those tricks on guitars with a hard-tail bridge.
The problem is, some tremolo will not go back to its zero position after it is being used.
This will make the guitar out of tune. This problem exists especially if the tremolo is set to full floating.
How does it work?
This tremolo stabilizer works like a tremolo stop but it has springs that can be compressed. This feature will allow pull-ups which in the case of the tremolo stop only dive bombs are possible.
The primary difference between this type of tremolo stabilizer is that it is spring-loaded and not fixed, meaning it can be pushed over by turning the tremolo upwards.
The spring tension is also adjustable for those who want to flutter the tremolo and also for those who want a firmer tremolo stabilization.
When you Dive Bomb, the Black Box is not connected to the tremolo so there are no noises or any vibrations produced.
The Black Box Tremolo Stabilizer could be used with any Floyd Rose or Fender-style tremolo system. It is the favorite option for a large majority of guitar players, professionals, and hobbyists alike.
A Simple Modification That Pays Off
For those worried about its effect on the appearance of an instrument, it does not require major alterations and can be easily removed and reinstalled.
The Black Box Tremolo Stabilizer is a small and simple modification and you only have to drill two small holes.
If your guitar is equipped with a Floyd Rose Tremolo, this is the best Floyd Rose Tremolo Stabilizer.
The Black Box Tremolo Stabilizer is one of the most important components of Floyd Rose Upgrades.
The Advantages of the Black Box Tremolo Stabilizer
- Compact design and is very well made.
- When the strings go out of tune when the guitarist moves the tremolo and releases it, the Black Box Tremolo Stabilizer will revert to the preset zero point, thereby making the strings in tune again.
- Despite multiple dive bombs and other uses of the tremolo, the guitar will return to exactly whatever pitch settings it was set to before activating.
- Affordable price.
- Tension can be fine-tuned by using the tension adjusting knob
Ease of installation
Only two small screw holes are needed to be drilled to mount the tremolo stabilizer. Installation is very much similar to a tremolo stopper.
You have to disassemble the stabilizer to mark the holes to be drilled. Once the holes are drilled, install the screw inner screw first ( the one closest to the tone block).
During assembly, you need to hold the tremolo like you are dive-bombing to give some space for the stabilizer assembly.
A lot of people say that you have to remove the tremolo during assembly, but I always manage to just put the stabilizer at an angle to be able to assemble it.
After installation, the outer knob will give you fine adjustments for the position of the rod against the tone block, while the inner knob is for the spring tension adjustment.
Adjusting it to compress the springs will add stiffness to the tremolo during pull-ups, relaxing the springs will make the tremolo more floating.
Some people will like the ESP Arming Adjuster because its four mounting screws are exposed, but I like the compactness of the Rockinger better.
Conclusion
It is hard to argue against the Black Box Tremolo Stabilizer for its effectiveness and affordability, as I consider it the best guitar tremolo stabilizer available in the market.
With all these previously mentioned functions and advantages taken into consideration, there might not be a better option in today’s market as far as tremolo stabilizing systems are concerned.
The Black Box Tremolo Stabilizer is most definitely a worthwhile investment for any guitar player.

Hi There. I’m looking into your Tremolo Stabilizer for my Floyd Rose Original and have these questions:
– Is it possible to do pull ups with Black Box? I use the tremolo both ways.
– If yes, will it come back to the same tuning immediately?
– Is there noise when it touches the Floyd Rose Block?
– Can it be installed together with Schaller Sure Claw?
Thank you!
Den says
Hi Anar,
The answer is yes to questions 1,2 and 4. No it will not make a noise when it hit the tone block of the tremolo.
Thanks for the comments,
Den

I had it in mind to get the Black Box Tremolo Stabilizer as a birthday gift for my brother who is a guitarist. Unfortunately, I couldn’t meet up with this plan last year. Hopefully, this should be possible this year. I can’t wait to have one for him. Is the Black Box Tremolo Stabilizer still the best option today?.
Den says
Hi Stella,
Yes, the Black Box Tremolo Stabilizer is still the best in the market today.

It seems rather funny to me that I have been playing guitar for close to five years and I have a group of guitar players and none has ever mentioned the existence of this black box tremolo stabilizer. You have really highlighted on the needs to get one for myself and surely, I found it very interesting and worthy of an equipment to get. Thanks so much for this and I’d surely check it out ASAP.

Hi Tracy,
I hear you as there are a lot of guitar players out there that did not realize the importance of the guitar modifications available. Most celebrity players do not go to their concerts with a stock guitar.
Some of them have a lot of guitar modifications done on their instruments. This device is one of the simplest and effective modification that will enhance the playability of a guitar.

I really do like the look and the functionality of the black box tremolo stabilizer and it is very reasonably priced too, I will order one direct. Is this only applicable to Floyd Rose Tremolos? I was a member of a group a few years ago and I still play guitar, though it’s more of a hobby these days but I do meet up with old friends occasionally so this stabilizer could be what I need, I have bookmarked your website and I will pass it on to my friends, you have some great info here on this website, thank you for sharing.
Den says
Hi Russ,
This guitar tremolo stabilizer can also be used on Fender style tremolos and other tremolos with a tone block.
Thanks for the comments,

You have sold me on the need for getting one of the black box tremolo stabilizers for my use. It just makes too much sense to have, and although it is not available in the USA, I am overseas so I will pick one up. I have friends that also play guitar as a hobby, but to now we had not heard of this vital accessory. It is also reasonably priced.
It is simple to mount and also just works without a lot of fuss, perfect for the likes of us. We are all geeks and like to experiment and get the most out of our jams, most importantly, to have some fun while doing so. You really laid it out clearly and I appreciate that. I have told my guys about this website, lots of great information for us. Thanks!

Hi Dave,
Yes, this little device is a killer. It is a must-have for floating tremolos like the Floyd Rose and the Fender Tremolo.
