Hi I am a beginner guitar player and I play an Epiphone SG guitar with a Vox 10watt amp. I am having terrible trouble with hum but I never knew what was causing it.Thank you for covering this issue as now I can take action to get rid of it.I am also going to try out Jamplay to try and make some progress.Thanks for the tip.

Try to use other cables to isolate the problem. If it still exist, try touching any metal art of the guitar while plugged, if the hum vanish, then you have a grounding problem. If the hum is still there, you may have a electronic shielding problem. Yes JamPlay is a good platform to learn how to play guitar or to improve your playing skills.
